My name is Maria Argyriou and since 2019 I have been developing and implementing a pioneering experiential artistic project. The need to discover who I am, along with the search for deeper meaning, purpose, and connection with something greater than myself, led me to combine photographic creation with mindfulness, energy healing, and spirituality.
I have essentially applied to photography all the therapeutic approaches in which I have trained: Mindfulness, Flower Remedies, Homeopathy, Body Psychotherapy, Trauma Therapy, Shamanic Energy Healing, and Chromotherapy. Thus, photography became for me not only an art form but also a tool of self-knowledge and self-healing.

Both the creation and presentation of my photographic series, as well as the entire architecture of my website, which I designed on my own, are based on the structure of our energy system and on the qualities and colors of our energy centers. Each section is connected with its corresponding center, and each photographic series with a level of existence — physical, psycho-emotional, and spiritual — which reveals my inner journey.
In this way, my website is not simply an online presentation of photographic work, but has been designed as a therapeutic tool for those who feel the need and the call to explore it.
This original combination constitutes an artist innovation: a new form of artistic narrative, where photography is not limited to aesthetics but becomes a tool for awakening all our senses and emotions, for activating our energy centers, and for spiritual exploration.
It is an authentic and original approach, shaped through my personal research — not imitation or borrowing. It is my truth, expressed through the language of photography: a dialogue between image, experience, and soul.

As far as I know, and after extensive research I conducted, I am probably the first photographer — but certainly the first twice exceptional fine art artist worldwide — to have created and structured my entire photographic work (portfolio) and my website on the seven energy centers and their colors, as a personal, experiential, and therapeutic narrative, born out of my own journey of self-awareness and spiritual seeking.

Creative Process

The core of my artistic work lies in the experiential process. The photographs emerged from the hypersensitivity of my senses and my connection with the heart and the body. The heart, which has its own memory, communicates with the central nervous system, and forms before the brain during embryonic life. There is no mental planning or preparation. On the contrary, when I photograph, my overactive mind — due to my birth trauma and high IQ — quiets down, I allow the flow to guide me, and I connect with the present moment, the here and now. This leads me to see and capture forms, shapes, movements, and invisible traces of energy and emotion that would otherwise remain unseen.

Selection & Energetic Alignment (editing & storytelling)

The uniqueness continues in the phase of selection and editing. Here, intuition, imagination, and inner vision are activated. Sometimes through forms and abstract images, sometimes through pure energetic frequencies, the photographs reveal their own meaning. The editing process is not artificial but an act of insight. I surrender to the flow of my hypersensitive senses and allow the inner voice to guide which image will be highlighted and how it will be integrated into the narrative.

Connection with Spirituality

Spirituality in art is primarily a way of experiencing and conveying meaning, sought beyond matter and the visible, beyond technical skill. As an artist, I converse with the deepest layers of myself, I surrender to the flow, and in this way I become a channel for something greater than my Ego — for the higher, the sacred, the collective, for truth or beauty.

The artwork that is born from this stance carries something intangible, a vibration that transcends the aesthetic. That is, it is not only beautiful or technically accomplished — it carries soul. That is why it opens a dialogue with the viewer and raises existential questions: Who am I? What does it mean to exist? How do I connect with the world?
Art becomes a bridge between the visible and the invisible, between the human experience and the ineffable.

Self-observation, the cultivation of perception, the strengthening of imagination, intuition, and creativity, as well as the connection with the emotions we experience while photographing or observing photographs — all lead us to our Inner Voice and Wisdom, and ultimately to our true self. When combined with spirituality, this path leads us to authenticity.
