Short bio

​

My name is Maria Argyriou and I was born in Kavala, Greece. I hold a degree from the School of Economic Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. From 1996 to 2011, I managed my family’s beverage distribution business. Since 2011, I have been involved in the production, organization, and promotion of artistic events, experiential and interactive workshops and seminars. Since 2019, I have been working as a flower therapy consultant, energy healer, and art therapist.

 

I am passionate about art and every form of expression and creation through it. I come from an artistic family, which brought me into contact with the visual arts from an early age. My relationship with photography began through the performing arts, specifically through the multimedia performances of director and choreographer Tzeni Argyriou.

 

In 2017, I attended the beginners' seminar of the Photography Club of Kavala, and became a member in 2018. I have participated in workshops organized by Lia Nalmpantidou, Eleni Mouzakiti, and Fotini Papachatzi. In 2018–2019, I attended in Thessaloniki the holistic and experiential workshop "Photography as Conscious Expression" with Haris Kakarouchas, and since then I have been practicing artistic photography through the path of self-awareness, consciousness and spirituality. In 2021 and 2022, I attended the Portfolio Development workshop by Vassilis Gerontakos.

 

I have participated in numerous group exhibitions, and my photographs have been selected and awarded in several festivals and competitions.
